Delita

Delita

Character: Delita Heiral
Series: Final Fantasy Tactics
Year: 2009

Delita is, without doubts, my favourite villain ever! His appearance in (my unquestionably favorite game) Final Fantasy Tatics seemed a bit shy at first, but he grew so much during the history that there's no denying that, in fact, he is one of the most structured character that I have ever met. The process for building the armour was somewhat complex, I had never made an armor before and I had no idea about where to start. Everything came out of trials. I used Vinyl for the golden armor and red velvet for the suit... And so was born Delita. To use a character that you love so much is an awesome feeling, truly unique... It was not perfect but I tried to not care, the most important thing was that I was able to use it at least once (and actually, right after the event it fell apart). Next to it I made Ramza's costume for My brother, so we could join the Cosplay Circuit together (Which never happened). Ramza was easier to make and Delita filled me with pride. It was the best example that there is no better feeling than being able to dress the character that you really love.

Hotarubi

Hotarubi

Character: Hotarubi
Series: Basilisk
Year: 2009

Hotarubi caught my hear in Basilisk. Her insanity and pure love for Yashamaru gave her an unforgetable role in the anime. The cosplay was all made in Oxford (really cheap!) and the snake made out of plush. I've made some kunais and used a funny japanese shoe xD It was kinda funny to use this cosplay, since I had a big group! Cosplaying with someone is always funnier x3

Kirin

Kirin

Character: Kirin
Series: Monster Hunter
Year: 2009
Trophies:
3o Place Individual - Anime Festival BH
1° Place Special - Anime Festival BH
AFC [2009 ~ 2010]: 700 points

This was one of the cosplays that I had more fun while doing it. I made everything by hand, even the sews... This costume is more like a lot of accessories together that makes a complete Costume. The Horn was made of polyestyrene, painted by hand with acrylics and glitter. The Swords were made of wood and everything else of plush and vinyl (It had a very cool snake pattern xD Monster Hunter is really an unique game, and Kirin Amor is just... love. It's by far the cutest thing ingame! <3 This one was the first try for Anime Festival Challenge, and even if I had a lot of problems on stage, I found myself kinda glad with the result.

Sakura Hime Ch. 100

Sakura Hime

Character: Sakura Hime
Series: Tsubasa Chronicles
Year: 2009
Trophies: 3o Place Individual - AF Party.

My third (and last until now) version of Sakura. I do this costume, manly because of the colours, the big sleeve and the sakura  details. I wished I had more opportunities to wear this costume and take more photos, even if I'm not 100% satisfied with the details and some little things that I made.
This time I had a big group of Tsubasa to go with!
The whole costume has more than 260 rattles, all of them sewed by hand. It was an exhaustive challenge to finish this costume, but the final product was somewhat, Just how I wanted.

Miaka (Suzaku no Miku)

Miaka

Character: Miaka (Suzaku no Miku)
Series: Fushigi Yuugi
Year: 2009

Fushigi Yuugi was the first manga that I followed until the end. My history with this serie is kinda funny... I bought the volume 11 just when they launched it. But I was too young/naive at that time. When I opened the pages and saw those mens without shirts and Nakago acting in a sexual way with Yui, I got too scared and tought that it was horrible!! So I just forgot this manga, so I would never have to look at those terrible things again. When I grew up, I fell in love with Tasuki, just after watching an episode of the serie. So I remembered of that perverted manga that I had bought a long time ago! I started reading it again (from the beginning this time) and then I fell in love with the series! The story is marvelous, catching and the characters (even if some are really cliché) are really real. Now I don't have a favourite character but the serie sure has left some (good) scars in me. I've choosen Miaka's costume just because I'm too envy of her. I love and hate her at the same time xD That naive and stupid personality that she has makes me angry >_< But also caught my attention... because of that kind of pernsonality that she is so strong and always get what she wants.
About the cosplay, it was all made of Prada. The wings were really innovating for me. I made a kind of system that, whith a rope, the heavy wings (made of iron and loooots of feathers) could be elevated. It was really interesting to make it, I've got a lot of experience :3

Amaterasu

Amaterasu

Character: Amaterasu (Gijinka)
Series: Õkami
Year: 2008

This was my first "Gijinka", its like making a human form of something that is not human. In this case I've choosen the Wolf Goddess from Õkami. I don't have enough words to explain my love for this game. You can only understand this when you play. The musics are awesome, the Art is unique, the Story is somewhat complex. Everything happen in a magic world.
The costume came out from my imagination. I've made the ears with plush, the shield was made of polyestyrene (like a backpack) and coloured tulle. I've painted my sking with fabric ink and it lasted thw whole day!
It was really funny altough this wasn't a cosplay that made me 100% glad. If I was going to redo it I would probably change the make up and the socks.I was gonna use a 7/8The red skirt is the thing that I like the most. I do like pleated skirts xD
And that's it... This one didn't cost more than 30 Reais (or 16 dollars), without the wig, of course.

Riku

Riku

Character: Riku - Deep Dive
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Year: 2008
Wig: Cog_marc 2
Trophies: 3° Place (Walk) - Anime Drops 2008

Kingdom Hearts belongs to that kind of game that will leave forever a mark on you. This one is a really unique game, and I fell in love with the vilain, even if it was a cliché.
Riku's costume was another couple-project that never came true.
The clothes were all made of Napa, so, in the sun, my skin fried - literally. xD The keyblade is made of solid wood and painted with oil paint. You just can't imagine how heavy it is! xD

Mitsukuni Haninozuka

Honey Senpai

Character: Mitsukuni Haninozuka - "Honey"
Series: Ouran High School
Year: 2008

Another uniform! I made this one to follow a friend of mine as Mori, but we never used it together :(
Actually, this one is pretty simple. The jacket was made of Oxford, with fake pockets and blue buttons. I already had the pants (they're the same used for Joshua xD)
Despite never having used it in a con, I took one or two photos at the Japanese immigration Festival that was held here in Belo Horizonte.
The bunny was made of pink tricoline and stuffed with cotton. It has a lot of flaws, but it's ok since it was the first one.

Maria Kurenai

Maria Kurenai

Character: Maria Kurenai
Series: Vampire Knight
Year: 2007
Wig: Cog_Marc 2

It's a High School Uniform! Vampire Knight is a wonderful anime and I could not stop myself of doing a cosplay of this series... Of course I chose to make Marias's uniform, after all, villains are always more funny! Moreover, the uniform is great, super comfortable, the white part was made of Prada and the black part of Tricoline. I pinned ribbon by ribbon, all by hand...
Now that I think about it, making this uniform was like a nightmare xD But I had a lot fun with this outfit, the wig was wonderful, really soft.
Finally, this was a very basic cosplay, but gave me a looooot of work. The flowers were handmade of biscuit just like the "diamonds" of the uniform.

Sakura Hime - Artbook

Sakura Hime Artbook

Character: Sakura Hime
Series: Tsubasa Chronicles
Year: 2007
Trophies: 1° place - Traditional Groups - AF Holiday 2008

My second version of Sakura, but this time with a wig from Cosplay Wig. This one was completely different from the other clothes that I had done so far, with staff, godet, paintings and different fabrics. I used it in 2007 for the first time in Anime Festival - October and took many pictures with Fê (Syaoran From the pictures below). I've made this outfit when Gabriel (the photo) called me to do a group with him! In 2008 we tried the contest and won the first place! It was a wonderful feeling, really unique.
The clothing was made of wedding-satin, a version of the fabric without that terrible shine. I painted the details with golden spray (on a mask). The Staff was made entirely of wood, I drew the details and cut it piece by piece (which were glued with white glue). It was a bit heavy, but at least it turned out the way I wanted! ^ __ ^ I used some tulle skirts underneath to give the volume, which, particularly, could have been bigger
