Belarus

Belarus

Character: Belarus
Series: Hetalia
Year: 2011
Photoshoot: by TsuKawaii

Belarus was my first cosplay done only for a photoshoot. It was when I first realized that this is the best part of this hobby: To make the costumes and take photos. This costume was all made of tricoline and I've used my previous Maid outfit as a pattern for this one. The ribbons of this costume were all filled with old newspaper and its very comfortable to wear.

Queen Esther

Character: Esther Blanchett
Series: Trinity Blood
Year: 2010
Won: 1o place - Best Costume - Anime Festival BH
AFC [2009 ~ 2010]: Winner with 705,6 points.

Although it may seem a hard-to-make cosplay, it was actually pretty easy. The biggest challenge was to create the crinoline from the scratch. Other than that, all that I made was instinctively and with recycled materials. But that does not make me cease to love this cosplay. It was my first real big dress and then I realized that this kind of cosplay is, without any doubts, my favorite style. The crown (and all other accessories) were all made of EVA and biscuit only, with some pebbles. The dress was made of Prada and the roses of red Velvet.

Premiação:
1o Place Individual - Anime Festival BH Winter
2° Place - WCS Minas
AFC [2009 ~ 2010]: 790 points

This cosplay was on of the biggest challenges that I had until now. To understand how the nun's habit was made and build the whole armor took a lot of time from me.
It was thanks to this cosplays's gloves that I learned how to embroil using my sewing machine. It was also the first time I had to cut a loong wig. Esther was all made with Prada, white tricoline (hand painted), dark blue oxford and red velvet. All accessories were made of biscuit and EvA, hand-painted with a primer and silver ink. As for the character, she charms me with her willpower and ability to fight and resist the temptations of Dietrich. A girl who lives with such naturalness in the middle of Methuselahs and even more: it stands out in its medium. It was with Esther that I participated in my first round in WCS here in Minas Gerais, performing with my friend Gabriel (Dietrich in the photos) and also was with her that I've got my first-first-place in the traditional individual. That is, a cosplay loaded with memories and important meanings to me.

Maid

Maid

Character: Maid
Year: 2010

I've always been in love with Maid uniforms! The big difference to the traditional French uniform is that it is full of ruffles, bows and laces! Funnier and sweeter. Well, this garment needed exacts 8 hours to be made and I've used it twice . Made of cotton and tricoline, I learned a lot from this outfit, after all, it was the first dress in that style that I did starting from scratch. The first time I used with a black wig and in the second time I tried with my own hair. I particularly prefer using a wig, but it was very hot on the second time I used and it was a better choice to be without the wig. In addition, the clothing is very pleasant to use following a pretty basic design that I made it myself.

Medusa

Medusa

Character: Medusa
Series: PetShop of Horrors
Year: 2010
Won: 1° Place - Best Costume

I met Petshop of Horrors while searching about the Kirin, another mythological beast that has just appeared on the scene. In this search I found the manga and decided to read a few pages. When I came across the story of Medusa, I knew that this was the cosplay I would make! The story is quite cliché about the forbidden love, but I love that kind of romance! I made this whole cosplay in German Silk and Prada. I spent somewhere around 250cm of cloth . The "pearls" were sewn one by one and were put shortly after the red pebbles. It was an infinite job, I do not even want to remember! I spent days and days sewing this by hand! This was done for Anime Festival Challenge, which would happen at Anime Connection. But it was canceled. Anyway I participated in the contest on the same day and took the prize for best costume. The hair was done with a giant black wig (the same as Pandora) and two bursts of Kanekalon that I've found in a jewelery shop.

Valdo

Valdo
Character: Valdo
Game: Avalon Code
Year: 2010
Won: 1° Lugar Walk on
AFC: 706 points

Finally, my favourite cosplay! I'm not sure if that's due his personality or his clothes. But the fact is that this cosplay was, without any doubts, the easiest to interpret! The process of making was kinda complex, I sewed the crown on my head to prevent its fall, and I don't even want to remember how hard it was to make his shoulder piece of the shoes... But I learned a lot while making it. But the result made me happy, and I think that is what really matters.

Oichi

Oichi

cCharacter: Oichi
Series: Sengoku Basara
Year: 2010
Won:: 3° Place Individual - AF Summer 2010

After playing Sengoku Basara incessantly, I could not resist to Oichi! Her history with Nagamasa is almost a Romeo and Juliet, altough much more tragic because of her madness, it's a really lovely character!
That outfit was full of challenges ... I reused Pandora's wig, and the handle of the "sickle" was also from Pandora's Spear xD The whole costume was made of vinyl, ranging from matte and glossy. The pieces of the armor were made of plush and vinyl. The "tails" of it were made of wire filling two pieces of fabric.
It was fun to use Oichi and I learned that I should not make characters with that extension of legs! Ahaha

Asuka (Matsuri no Yoru)

Asuka Langley

Character: Asuka Langley
Series: Neon Genesis Evangelion (Matsuri no Yoru's version)
Year: 2010

This version of Asuka is really beautiful! I love that kind of "traditional" costume, and needless to say how much I love red cosplays >:3
It was fun to use these clothes, and I had a heel 15cms high (heavy) made of wood. Despite not having a personality as strong as Asuka's, I love this character. I did all the red kimono in Prada and the green kimono in oxford. The tail was made of black plush and the fan of wood.
The wig was actually for Juliet but I used it for Asuka!

Zashiki Warashi

Zashiki Warashi

Character: Zashiki Warashi
Series:XxX Holic
Year: 2010
Won: 2o Place - Walk on - Anime Punch 2010
3o Place individual - Anime Punch 2010

Even tough she hasn't a big role in the series, I like her a lot. She is the clichè character of Clamp, being shy and very delicate. I've used only oxford for this costume, and was glad that it worked perfectly fine! I spent some days painting the roses on the kimono, and it gave me a back ache :( The flowers on the hair were also made of fabric, using heat to give them that form. I've bought the flute on an Indian's fair that we had here on my city. And just after the con I've made a Photoshoot on the zoo.

Pandora

Pandora

Character: Pandora
Series: Saint Seiya - The Lost Canvas
Year: 2009
Won: 3o Lugar Individual Tradicional

AFC (2009~ 2010): 690 points

Pandora was another cosplay that was primary planned to be with a group. But I ended making it before them. It was kind of funny to plan this cosplay, since I had to experiment a lot of new materials. The ring shapped like a snake was made using clay and primer, then painted and coated with gloss. The snake on the spear was made in the same way, while its blade was made of wood.
The armor was all made of EVA and then sewed on the costume. The snake on my waist is actually a rope painted with silver spray.
It was nice to wear that costume, even tough the heels were a little disconforting.
I've made a skit and when I opened my Pandora's box, the light went out! It was kid of scary, but in the end I had a lot of fun, getting the third place.
